About Happy
Happy Singer1 is an engaging and expert tutor of German, experienced in working with students of all ages and experience levels.
Biography
A British-born Australian, Happy was awarded a B.A. with first-class Honours in German Studies from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne with a commendation for spoken German and the Swiss Embassy Prize.
During and after university, Happy spent several years teaching both high-school classes and private clients. In both the UK and Germany Happy taught German, French and ESL professionally. He also spent time as a professional musician before migrating to Australia to pursue a successful technology career.
Since 2022, Happy has once again relished the opportunity to help learners master the exciting German language, offering both German lessons for adults and private tuition for all ages.
Learning the Fun Way
German grammar in particular is often said to be challenging for English-speaking learners. As an experienced German teacher, Happy will guide you to mastery one simple step at a time. Much more importantly, however, learning a language should be a joyful experience. While Happy has extensive professional and academic experience in language and teaching, he is also a professional software engineer, public speaker and former musician, actor and comedian. Technological innovation, musical performance, humour and much more make lessons with Happy simply unique. You'll not even notice how much grammar you're learning!
For parents
Working with children as a private tutor is a very particular responsibility. The safety of your child is paramount, and all private tuition is conducted either at your home, online or at the public library. A talented tutor will tailor lessons to the student's age and interests as well as bring abundant patience and empathy to lessons.
The German With Happy community college courses are aimed at an adult audience. Sufficiently mature teenagers are welcome, however students below the age of 14 must be accompanied by a paying adult; private tuition may be a more appropriate choice for younger learners.
Happy has a current NSW Working With Children Check which you must verify before tuition commences. Client references from parents of young people are also available on request.
